Brooklyn 9/11 Wall HERO DOG Program
With the 20th Anniversary of September 11th, the Foundation wanted to do something more. The K-9 Working Dog program is our new program to help provide highly trained Detection Dogs to FDNY, NYPD and PAPD. We have our first 3 now being raised and trained at PennVet.
We contracted the University of Pennsylvania PennVet program, to sponsor 3 working dogs for FDNY, NYPD and PAPD. Inspired by the Search & Rescue Dogs that responded following the attacks on 9/11, the Penn Vet Working Dog Center opened on September 11, 2012 and serves as a national research and development center for detection dogs. Detection dogs are uniquely trained for the department they will be assigned to work with. In honor of Sirius, PAPD officer David Lim’s K-9 partner who lost his life on 9/11, we couldn’t be more pleased to sponsor these heroic dogs. This will be an ongoing program for the Brooklyn 9/11 Wall of Remembrance. Our plan is to continue to sponsor more dogs. Contact us if you wish to help. info@Brooklyn9/11Wall.org or BrooklynWall.org@gmail.com |

Each year on Sept. 10th, families, responders, volunteers and friends gather at the Wall for candlelighting. FDNY and NYPD chaplains offer prayers, but the loveliest part of the evening are the stories. Friends and Family love to share stories of their loved ones- not to mourn, but to celebrate them. It's an evening filled with love, laughter and light
